Graeme Lawrence BSocSc, MNZPI
Graeme has more than 25 years experience in planning and resource management, 14 of which were spent
in management roles. In 1985, he was appointed Chief Planner for Thames-Coromandel District Council and
in 1995 became the Manager Environmental Planning. While experienced in all aspects of planning, Graeme
is especially skilled in project and issues management, managing multi-disciplinary teams, strategic
planning, consultation, facilitation and negotiation, monitoring systems, the aggregation of critical
information and development of policy. He has a Bachelor of Social Sciences, is a member of the
New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI), is Honourary Lecturer in Geography at the University of Waikato,
and is a Director of the Environment Defence Society Inc.
